Disha
"Disha" is a Seattle-based experimental band that defies genre boundaries. Formed in 2020 by a talented group of musicians during the COVID-19 lockdown, the band brings together a unique blend of individual musical tastes and experiences to create a dynamic and innovative sound.
The band consists of Jothi on vocals, Ganeshram on drums, Chandru on keys, Ram on guitar, Vignesh on bass, and Brianna on violin. Additionally, "Disha and Friends" represents a collaboration with talented musical associates who frequently perform with the band in live concerts.
In their debut performance as "Disha and Friends," the ensemble successfully raised over $200,000 in collaboration with Ponmaalai Pozhudhu and AID Seattle, showcasing their musical and philanthropic prowess.
Care & Share
Care & Share is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting disadvantaged communities both domestically and internationally. Established in 1990, the organization focuses on a variety of humanitarian initiatives, including disaster relief, medical support, education, and homelessness.
With a strong emphasis on global humanitarian efforts, Care and Share has been instrumental in providing aid during natural disasters, funding medical research, and offering educational scholarships to underprivileged students. The organization also plays a key role in providing shelter and rehabilitation services for vulnerable groups, such as orphans and victims of human trafficking.
A significant portion of Care and Share's work is centered in Kerala, India, where it has supported flood relief, COVID-19 relief, education of differently abled kids, and online education. Through community engagement and events like "Ganolsavam," Care and Share raises funds and fosters awareness for its causes.
Ganolsavam 2025 will focus on initiatives that benefits special needs kids and patients with critical illnesses. 30% from the proceeds from the event will be allocated for the requests coming from the community. Rest will be split across 3 organizations:
Pallium India – A pioneer in providing Palliative Care for critically ill patients. We intend to support the education project of their patients’ kids. Also Pallium is in the process of building a new permanent ‘Home’, and we want to sponsor one of the doctors’/nurses’ rooms.
Adarsh Special School – Based in Ernakulam, Adarsh provides quality education to more than 400 kids with special needs.
Chaithanya Special School – Chaithanya takes care of more than 200 kids with special needs in Palakkad district.
Holy Cross Special School - Founded in 2001 with just 10 students, Holy Cross Special School in Mannackanad, Kottayam, has grown into a beacon of hope and care for children with special needs. Today, the school supports 126 children with diverse needs, guided and nurtured by a dedicated team of 26 compassionate staff members.
Join us in making a difference and support families in need through our Ganolsavam 2025 music fest. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will bring us closer to our goal of making a positive impact in the lives of those who need it most. Let's come together and show our generosity.
